Project Description
San Joaquin County’s Administration Building Project is located on the corner of Weber and San Joaquin Streets. With its construction, administrative and service departments were combined into one efficient facility that can accommodate projected staff growth for the next several decades.
The Design-Build six story, 250,000 square foot office building was constructed with grade beam foundation supporting a structural steel brace framed shell with composite concrete and metal deck floors and a pre-cast concrete exterior skin. An outdoor plaza with a steel and rock fountain at its center completes the corner.
The horizontal lines of Stockton’s historic buildings influenced the building’s design. A huge glass atrium modernized the façade. The glass was added to represent transparency in government and the space was designed to be open, inviting and easy to use.
Services Provided
MatriScope provided special inspections and material testing related to, concrete, fireproofing, high strength bolting, masonry, and structural steel.
