Project Description
The UC Davis Medical Center – Tower II project consisted of a 13-story plus basement, 454,000 square foot steel-frame hospital building. The project included construction of a rooftop helipad and a nine-story structural bridge connecting an existing tower structure to the new Tower II building. The structure is built upon a mat foundation that included approximately 6,100 cubic yards of concrete, the largest single pour in Sacramento County at the time.

Services Provided
Signet provided special inspection and materials testing services including reinforcing steel, batch-plant, concrete, masonry, shop and field welding, non-destructive examination (UT/MT), spray applied fireproofing and extensive anchor load testing. They provided a team of up to five site inspectors, two fabrication/welding inspectors and 27 concrete inspectors during the mat pour.
