Project Description
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Parking Structures are multi-agency Design/Build projects located at different sites at the BART Berryessa Station and BART Milpitas Station. The two individual projects each include the construction of a 1,200-space, 432,500 GSF structure constructed with cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete beams and slabs. Columns were supported by 3- to 4-foot diameter concrete caissons that extended 20 feet or more into the ground. The Berryessa Parking Facility is a three-seven split level open air structure with certain removable façade elements to allow for future drive aisles. The Milpitas Parking Facility is a six-level open air structure with certain removable façade elements to allow for future pedestrian overcrossings.

Services Provided
Signet provided special inspection and material testing services of reinforcing steel, reinforced concrete, post-tension rebar and stressing, masonry, shotcrete, structural steel, and NDT testing (including out of state coordination in Maryland). We were initially awarded the contract with McCarthy for the VTA Berryessa; based on our high level of customer service, responsiveness, and technical capabilities, our contract was amended to include VTA Milpitas.
